Write code. Drive a robot. Get it home.

BugBot is a little robot a long way from home. Every level is a room he has to escape, and the only way out is the Python code you write. Press Run, watch him drive in a real 3D simulator, and see what your code actually does, overshoots and all.

How it plays

  • Short levels. Each one adds a single line of code or a single new idea.
  • Real physics. A real robot simulator decides whether your code works, not a multiple-choice quiz.
  • Stuck? cards explain each new command the first time you need it.
  • A road home across a world map, with a checkpoint level at the end of every set.

Three worlds

  • The Lab: drive, turn, wait for doors, and learn variables and loops.
  • The Scrapyard: if, while and your own functions.
  • The Overgrown City: read sensors, steer by the camera and build a robot that thinks for itself.

What the code looks like

from bugbot import *
connect()

for i in range(4):
    forward(speed=60, distance=30)
    turn_right(speed=60, angle=90)

No install and no experience needed. Works on phone, tablet and desktop. Great for ages 10 and up, classrooms, and anyone curious about coding.

How to play

Press Play BugBot Lab above. The game opens in a new tab so you can sign in and keep your progress.
